Kids' Safety Contest

The Kids’ Safety Contest is back and better than ever!

Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. is looking for students to get creative and share their best safety message! Kids can enter the contest by creating an entry in whichever way sparks their creativity! The only rule is that your entry must fit on one standard piece of paper (8.5” x 11”). Whether it's a colorful drawing, a thoughtful poem, or a song with lyrics, we can’t wait to see how you share your safety message!

Your entry could be:

  • A hand-drawn poster

  • A graphic-design poster

  • A song with lyrics

  • A thoughtful poem

Students in grades 1-8 who reside within the NPEI service territory (Niagara Falls, Pelham, Lincoln and West Lincoln) will be eligible to submit an entry for a chance to win a $100 gift card and NPEI gift basket. One winner will be selected in each of the following 3 categories: grades 1-3, 4-6 and 7-8.

The Theme of This Year’s Contest is "Call Before You Dig – It’s The Law!"

There are underground hazards that we must be aware of. Hitting electric, gas, or other high-pressure pipes and lines could have fatal consequences. We must all prevent damages to protect our communities. You should never assume it is safe to dig.

The deadline to submit entries is April 30, 2025.

Entries must be submitted with an official contest Entry Form.

Your Entry:

  • Must be on size 8.5"X11" paper
  • Must be submitted with an official entry form (found below)
  • Will be judged on creativity and quality of the safety message
