IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING A POWER OUTAGE, PLEASE REPORT IT TO NPEI BY CALLING 1-877-270-3938.
Note: An outage will be displayed on the above map approximately 15 minutes after it occurs.
The outages reflected on the map are those that have been reported from your meter communication or those confirmed by NPEI.
Scheduled outages are displayed. NPEI provides customers with prior notice before interruption of service occurs, with some exceptions such as emergency situations.
*IMPORTANT* If your power has been out for more than four (4) hours, please call NPEI to inform us of your outage, regardless of whether you have already reported it.
OUTAGES DISPLAYED DURING BUSINESS HOURS
(Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, excluding weekends, and holidays)
Outages that have been restored will be cleared from this map during business hours. If you see an outage has been cleared but you still do not have power, check your breakers or main switch. If the power is still off, be sure to call NPEI.
Customer reported outages will only appear on the map during office hours.
OUTAGES DISPLAYED AFTER BUSINESS HOURS
(Monday to Friday 4:30 pm – 8:30 am, weekends and holidays)
After-hours outages will remain on this map until the following business day. This means outages that have been restored may still appear on the outage map.
Customer reported outages that occur after hours may not appear on the map; however, on-call staff are available and will respond to the outage.
AUTO RECLOSURES
This map does not include momentary outages, also known as "auto-reclosures". This is when a Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. circuit breaker at a substation opens momentarily to allow a temporary fault or problem on the distribution system to clear (e.g. lightning strike or tree branch contact). The circuit breaker then "auto-recloses" to restore power thus avoiding a prolonged power outage or the dispatch of field personnel to restore power.
